Scarlett Johansson is an American actor and singer who was born in New york city, in the United States on November 22 in 1984. Her performances have earned an acclaim in a diverse range of genres including time-based dramas, thrillers, and action films. Johansson was born in New York City, and lived there with her producers mother and father, who were both architects. The twin brothers Hunter and her brother Hunter were among the youngest of siblings. Her interest began for acting at an early age auditioning for commercials by the age of seven. To improve her acting skills, she attended an acting class at Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan and then at the Professional Children's School. Johansson made her debut an actress on film in North (1994) at nine years old. At eight, she was a part of Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson came next to the screen in Just Cause (1996), however she was Manny & Lo 1996 that brought her to the forefront. The movie is about two girls orphaned and leaving. Then, she was awarded an award for the role she played as a teenage girl who had been injured and made her look a bit swollen as she appeared in The Horse Whisperer (1998).
